Surprise Baby Shower

It was very hard to leave New York during the last month of this pregnancy.  It wasn't the travelling here to Texas that made it hard but the leaving of friends and family right before the birth of our fifth child.  Both my sister and sister in law had had babies in April, my good friend Jen had a little girl in March and right before we left another good friend had her baby in July.  Being around them and sharing in their experiences and oohing and aahing over their babies together was so wonderful and it really made me sad to think that I was going to miss out on sharing my baby with all of them.

Once again God has reminded me how much He takes care of all the little details and provides for our every need...not just physical but emotional as well.

On Saturday I was overwhelmed by the love and generosity of the new RGBI family we have here.  My dear friend and teammate Vonni arranged for a surprise baby shower this past Saturday and I certainly felt "showered" with blessings.

Dan was to come up with a way to get me to the Koinonia, a fellowship room that is used for various occassions like this.  I was absolutely clueless but I have to admit I started to get suspicious when he mentioned all of us getting dressed up and going for a family walk at 3 pm in the afternoon...a time when NO ONE is outside because it is too HOT!!  But, my husband has come up with many interesting things in the past so I try to not question too much!

To my surprise a wonderful group of women from the Language Program had gathered together for me and baby #5.  I was prayed for and deeply encouraged in a time when I really needed to be encouraged by His Word and His people.  We were given lots of dipes n' wipes (woo hoo!) and a gift card for "skinny" clothes after the baby is born as well as being informed that once the  baby arrives we will be provided with meals just let them know when to start!  Oh, and time to just sit around and talk about "mom" things.  I left with that numb, warm fuzzy feeling of being so blessed and I am sure I didn't truly express my gratitude.

Isn't this cake adorable?!  Vonni made it of course :)

There is nothing like being in the center of His will...being and doing what He has called you to do no matter what sacrifcies you think you are making because really, there are sacrifices, but He blesses and provides above and beyond anything we could ever imagine and has made this journey into an adventure.
