Here's a funny story we'd like to share with you. Back in March our teammates, Jeff and Amy indirectly asked us if we were pregnant to which we emphatically replied, "No!". Well, when April 1st came around I (Dan) had a smart idea. We would text our teammates that we were pregnant, which we did. After sending the message we sweated it out for five minutes waiting to see if they would take the bait. They did and then I triumphantly texted back, "APRIL FOOLS!!!" Ha! Oh yeah, we got em' good!
This past Saturday we went to visit Jeff and Amy again. They are medical missionaries and we had come for a checkup. Sarah and I stepped into our friend's mobile clinic and Jeff fired up his ultrasound machine. He pressed it to Sarah's tummy revealing a lime-sized little person with hiccups. Every time the baby hiccuped he/she would bounce up in the womb then gently float back down. Jeff measured the head and legs while tiny hands and feet stretched and reached. A little nose and mouth were even visible on the ultrasound screen... amazing. Once all the measurements were taken Jeff took a look at his chart and informed us that we were just now entering the second trimester of pregnancy. We all were silently doing the math in our heads... 'Hmm, that would mean this baby was conceived right around...' you guessed it, April 1st. I guess the April Fools' was on us!
Later that night we told the kids they would be having another brother or sister. They were all delighted, but none more than Sammie. You see, she sings to the Lord. One time, after Judah was born, I overheard her singing, "Loooord, why haven't you given me a sister?" Last night at dinner she informed us, "I'll be happy if it's a boy but I hope it's a girl." Then just today she skipped up to Sarah and said, "I'm so very glad that we're having a baby." Though we have yet to find out if Howdy #6 is a boy or a girl I strongly suspect that Samantha was a co-conspirator with God in this April Fools' blessing.

Congratulations, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Love to you all, Dave & Hermien
