Like the 4th of July.
In fact, if it wasn't for our American teammates we would've done exactly that for the past three years, just let the 4th of July pass. Instead, this year, along with two other American families that live here in Asuncion and two that were also staying at the mission guest house, we had a good ol' USA cookout complete with hot dogs and hamburgers, potatoe salad, fried rice, bean salad, and cookies and ice cream for dessert.
We even dressed for the occassion this year in our Americana shirts.
And had fireworks!! Lots of fireworks...in between the pouring rain!!
it looks like you had more fun with your 4th than we did....go figure!
ReplyDeleteYou're clear across the country and you celebrated the 4th in the traditional American way... more than I can say for us. We skipped out this year.
