Whew!
It was a wonderfully long, full, busy weekend.
Friday night Dan went backpacking with his brother Dave.
I spent the night at my parent's with the kiddos and so did my sister so we had an ice cream, movie watching sleep over.
Saturday while Dan and Dave were "speed" hiking, Jess & I went to a kickboxing class. It was fun; couldn't move various parts of my body a couple of days later but it was cool. My sis, she is one tough cookie. Pow! On our way home we saw one of those huge bouncy balls rolling down the road. Since we didn't see anyone coming after it we turned the corner and stopped, debating if I should run after it. It came rolling around the corner so I dashed out and grabbed. Free ball! As soon as I got back from the class I had to rush Silas to the doctor because of a horrible cough. No sooner had I returned from the doctor's that Dan called needing to be picked up from his hike (really, Finger Lakes, we need more looping trails around here!). An hour and a half later, we returned to pack our bags and head out to Rochester to our good friends' house Jay & Kelly Miller. What a blast we had eating dinner together (with Paul & Abbey Gebel as well), sharing stories and staying up way too late into the night!
Sunday we all headed to church together, shared a meal with our church family (every third Sunday, it is great!) and then Dan gave a presentation of our ministry. We are so blessed by our home church and we were really excited to finally be able to share with our church family all that has happened over the last four years and where God is leading us next term. We were very encouraged.
