It was Andy & Lizet Bowen with their sons Lucas and Timmy! The last time we saw them they were in Paraguay teaching Guarani to other missionaries, like our teammates the Camerons!! How cool is it that we got to host the Bowens here in our home, in our state, here in the USA?!?! (They are just finishing up their year long home assignment and will be heading back to Paraguay in July.) This visit was amazing as it brought the two worlds we live in together for the first time!
Dan and Andy took the boys on a canoe ride in the beaver pond behind our house; sat in front of their computers which is so typical; and took the kids on a tractor ride around the yard!
Andy was our Guarani instructor during our first year in Paraguay. We studied with him in the capital city, Asuncion and since then he has purchased and built the most gorgeous house (on the side of a mountain) with classrooms on the same property. Their place has become somewhat of a tourist stop when family comes down because everyone has to meet Andy & Lizet then see the view, the waterfalls, and experience the treacherous mile-long "driveway" that scales the mountain to their house.
It was a privilege to be able to serve them. Lizet is an amazing cook and is always serving and hosting others so even though it was nothing gormet, I was so glad to return the favor.
Please pray for them as they continue to travel visiting supporters and churches before returning to Kentucky to pack and return to Paraguay.
that is way cool!
