Meal Making Monday

Monday we got together with three other families for a "Meal Making Party". It was so much fun!! The dads were in charge of a quick and easy dinner and all the children while my friends from church Kelly, Deb, Abbey and I spent the majority of the evening putting together meals. (The dads did get a chance to talk "gear" as they prepare for an upcoming "guy" adventure.)

It took us just over three hours to make four double meals meaning we all went home with eight meals to put in our freezer! I have always wanted to do something like this but never have and honestly, when we first started emailing back and forth I was completely lost! I didn't understand how it worked at all. Thank you Kelly for finally just allowing me to come this time, pay my share and participate (Kelly did all the shopping for my meal!). Now I totally understand and am eager to do this again. For our meals we did beef burritos, chicken kabobs, marinated chicken breasts and stromboli.

We peeled, chopped, mixed, rolled, sliced and diced together.

Beef burritos...all ready for the freezer then thaw and cook.

What better way to cook good, healthy meals for your family on a budget than to get together with good friends and prepare together?!? I highly recommend this.

  1. What a great idea. It is nice to see all of you getting together to do that, and the food looks great.
