Our Blog's New Name and New Look

You may have noticed some changes with our blog's header recently.  When someone recommended we make our most important links visible toward the top of our blog I set out on a journey into the unknown world of CCS and HTML coding.  My mission was to develop a menu directly under our blog's header that looked good and worked well.  As days turned into weeks I realized that I was in way over my head and hopelessly lost.  That's when I called my tech savvy friend, also named Daniel, who came to my rescue and within days brought me out of the CCS woods and set my feet back on solid HTML ground.  The result was the drop down menu you see above.

Though I had encountered many things I didn't understand my appetite for adventure had been whetted and I knew it was time for change.  We've loved the name 'hough's life' also known as 'how's life?' and we've used it for our newsletters since the year 2000, email and even a band name.  While we've kept the name for our blog I have made the logo much larger and purchased the font entitled 'you are loved' from a Christian developer. Inspired by an idea of Sarah's I then created the 'HL' logo that you see above and included it as our new favicon (that tiny image you sometimes see next to a web address).   Last of all I purchased the domain name: houghslife.com.  What this means is that now all you need to do is type in 'houghslife.com' to view our blog with it's totally new header, logo, and drop down menu... and don't forget the favicon (it will show up if you reset your web browsing history).  Houghslife.com... 'how's life?'  That's our name and now we own it!

  1. Good day and Merry Christmas. It is going to take a little time for me to get used to the giant HL on your heading, but I am sure I will enjoy keeping up with all of you through the hard word that goes into sharing what is happening with us. As I look back on the years that have passed since our first visit to the large farm house where you were staying in upstate New York, I can't help but smile at all the stories and adventures that have been a part of your life and how you have shared them with us. I am sure that there are many more ahead for you and pray that the :Lord continues to walk with you and bless your work in the new year.
