Our original plan was to return to Caazapa on Monday, July 27. However, we realized that wasn't going to work and with the children all being sick and scheduling a last minute doctor's appointment, we changed our plan to leave Wednesday morning, July 29. Now, if you had asked me three days before Wednesday if I was ready to go back I would have said NO! I was actually enjoying all of us being together, the HEAT from the air conditioner/heating unit in our room, and just all around emotionally and spiritually, I was not ready. But God knew and after the extra three days, it was time to get out of that room and get back to our life in Caazapa.

So, we made plans to leave early in the morning as I had specifically requested that we get in the afternoon so we had daylight to get unpacked a little and knowing that it would be COLD once that sun went down (no heat!). Everything was packed and breakfast was ready the night before. Somehow though, things never go as planned, and we had a hard time leaving the city. Finally about noon time the truck was loaded, last minute paperwork was finished, kids were loaded up, Silas had been nursed and changed and we were on our way out. But it was noon time so now we had to get lunch. And gas. And stop at the pharmacy again. Then Dan and I got talking and making last minute phone calls and we missed a turn. We saw a new part of the city but lost more time. Silas needed to be fed and changed again an hour after we left. As we were driving, expecting our internet to be working, we realized it was Wednesday and thought we'd get an interesting Wordless Wednesday picture. That idea turned into another hour's worth of stopping and taking various pictures along the way, pictures of things we thought would be interesting about Paraguay to those who read our blog. Another hour later we were in Villarrica, 45 minutes from Caazapa, and I needed to go grocery shopping. The sun was already starting to set and I think everyone in Villarrica decided they needed to go shopping. The store was so crowded, the carts are so tiny and Eli and I ended up taking over an hour to get all the shopping done. Silas needed to be fed and changed again. The boys needed potty breaks. We found a lighted playground and let all the runny nosed children out to play while I fed Silas. I saw Eli work his way across a row of monkey bars for the first time, very cool. Then we loaded up again to make the final stretch to Caazapa, after changing Silas, who as we were changing him, on my lap, decided he wasn't done yet, and proceeded to poop without a diaper and then when that was done had to pee too...a nice arch he had and luckily my super mom thinking skills grabbed the end of the changing pad and shielded him from wetting the entire dashboard. Miraculously I didn't get dirty at all, thanks to the changing pad beneath him, Dan's quick thinking and my super mom skills. OK.
But it IS good to be back home.
Phew! I'm tired just reading about the day, but it doesn't surprise me with you guys. It's always an adventure with you. ;)
