We have three focused days before going to the city again (hopefully back in Caazapa for Christmas but bringing the stockings just in case). After that a men's retreat, New Year's, a couple more days before a youth camp then the BIG move (big truck comes and we load everything from the house and take to storage at the guest house in the city). Dan then leaves for a full week to Argentina for the CIMA conference, comes back for a few more days and then "welcome USA". I'm NOT panicking! Really, I'm not. OK, I'm TRYING not to panic.
We could really use a grammy/oma/aunt right now!
The kids are doing great but it is not easy trying to sort through and pack things away with four needy children in 94 degree heat. Very late nights are looming before us...
Please be praying for Eli, Toby and Samantha. Change is not easy and their whole world is being turned upside down. This house, Caazapa, Paraguay is all they really know. As Dan and I were filling boxes today, Eli and Toby were stuffing their backpacks with various things. Later they told me they were ready for the plane to the US. I realized they were rescuing some of their special things from being packed away!!
We are talking about it with them all the time, making sure they know mommy & daddy will be with them wherever they are and assuring them special stuffed dogs and bears can go too. :)
This is a first for us too. We are not sure what we are doing and we are nervous and excited all at the same time. But packing up like this...how do you do it?!?!
Not only do the children want our attention but everyone else too. Just today - I kid you not - in immediate succession there was Derlis (who was working here all day), then Dolly stopped by, followed by Olimpio who crossed paths with Jazmin and was followed by Tito. Whew.
Frappuccinos with brownies...here we come!

Ugh!
Thus, it has begun. The odious task of packing and moving.
Anyone actually enjoy packing and moving like this?!?!

Are you moving back to the US permanently? The packing... whew. I don't envy you. We moved overseas and then back also. As sentimental as I am, I was heartless when it came to packing. Of course, we only have two. Godspeed, woman! :)
ReplyDeleteAnyway, I'm interested to hear what your plans are!
Wish I was there to help too, sis... but you're an old pro, better than I am anyways. You'll do great! Just remember that you have lots of family here that will help you out when you get home. :) 2 months! WOO HOO!!!!
ReplyDeleteFuerza Sarah. If I can do it, you can too!! (okay, packing up one person's things is not in quite the same league as packing up 6 people's things, but still, it felt every bit as daunting at times!!!)
