Father-Son / Men's Retreat

Once again the trusty mates teamed up (that would be Greg & Dan again!) to put together the second annual Men's Retreat. That is what they originally called it but it has kind of turned into a father/son retreat as well as the dads bring along their older sons. This year Eli got to go. Boy oh boy was he excited!! He had the countdown started about a week before but I had to remind him to be a bit quiet about it since Toby wasn't going. He did a good job and would quietly share how many days were left. So, Monday Dec. 30th Dan and Eli packed their bags for a relaxing retreat at the river. Again Vonni and her youngest Ben stayed with me and my three littles. I am so thankful for such a special friend!

Well, Eli had a blast! Dan told me that one morning he was up at 6 AM and wanted to go in the water first thing (apparently that's where he spent most of his time)! This is huge since just about a year ago Eli was the one who preferred to stand on the sidelines and watch. Mostly because he wasn't too sure about the water. After a year of observing and the wonderful swim lessons at the CHN retreat along with a certificate saying he can swim, he is as confident as ever.

There was fishing, cliff jumping, tube riding, lots of eating and good times had by all.
