After church we all climbed in and headed toward a remote home to visit one of Dan's friends, a youth whom he had discipled last term. Disappointment ensued as we arrived after a two hour ride to hear that the youth had left the night before. Miscommunication? Not sure but I know it broke Dan's heart and this was just the icing on the cake after a few other disappointments.
Thankfully the truck wasn't packed just for this visit though...but for a camping trip!
Another two hours later we rolled into Camping Ybytyrusu, joining our teammates the McKissicks and the Floyds.
Toby cracks me up. Isn't he hilarious?!?!
For two nights and three days the kids played in the water throwing rocks and running around, the guys and older boys played AirSoft any chance the wives would let them (thanks Mom, you have no idea how often he finds a way/time to play...if you didn't know my mom makes these guns at Crosmans), the wives plus Sammie, Julia and Ginny (all the girls as Sammie would say) enjoyed drinking coffee and looking through magazines (thanks Mom-in-law for sending my Better Homes and Garden mags, we had fun!), and Judah enjoyed the scenery from his pack n play.
Boys will be boys I suppose
They actually helped keep some of the chickens away (seriously...chickens!).
Sammie loves having Julia and Ginny M. around...more girls!
It was a wonderful time after some discouraging times. Thanks Josh M for having a birthday and wanting us to go camping with you! Thanks Amy for setting it all up even though I misunderstood the lunch plans and ended up crying in my tent mostly from embarrassment but it is all good. True friends must be real and let me tell you, nothing makes you be more real than going camping together. Just ask our dear friends the Camerons whom we trekked to the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde and the Rocky Mountains National Park with in between semesters last year at RGBI! It's OK. We're still friends.
Juju makes the funniest faces!
Before we left the area we took our the Ms up Cerro Akati, a beautiful lookout point.
Lots of KIDS...the Ms have 6, we have 5!
Dan is now in the woods again with Greg C. Four adults, three teenagers and four tweens for three nights for the annual MK Boys Adventure Dan and Greg initiated last term. But then it was only the two of them and three teenagers. Can't wait to hear the stories!
I'm alone with the five kiddos. I think we're about even! :)
Although last time I was alone while Dan was in the city Toby got lifted up by a cow. We were walking to our teammates house.
He requested that I stay put this time.
