La Vida Misionera

Routine?  Schedule?  What are those?

Alas, I am still learning that one must be extremely willing to let go of routine and schedule and, as teammate Christie has said, be rigidly flexible!  I am one who likes to know what is going on.  Don't get me wrong, it makes for a very exciting life and there are many times when there is not a lot going on and we might actually be tricked into thinking we have a great routine/schedule going for a month or so and then...you guessed it.  Rigidly flexible.  Why is this on my mind, again?  #1:  Because I'm trying to figure out how exactly I'm going to finish the school year with Eli and Toby since we are just beyond the half way point but in order to have the books for the next school year I need to be ordering now so I can get them to the next people returning/coming to Paraguay.  It sounds complicated and it seems that way sometimes but like I said, I'm still learning how to figure it all out.  #2 is because June and July seem to be busy months, at least this year, for all of our missionaries.
  • The McKissicks have six interns for six weeks for  their T.I.M.E. (training in medical evangelism) internship;
  • The Reichs have a new baby and are getting ready for their home assignment (packing/moving);
  • The Stouts are also going on home assignment and getting ready to send their first born to college (sniff*sniff) while directing our team and heading up the Audio Bible project;
  • The Camerons will be welcoming family from South Africa at the end of this week and also have a new baby (smiles);
  • A new missionary, Karen-home school coordinator, is arriving this week;
  • The Stirlings are leaving soon to visit their Canada for our winter;
  • There is a group of 5 from RGBI here and we just found out they are coming to SF this week and will be staying with us (that will be fun!);
  • Youth camp is coming up in July and Dan is on the planning committee for that and is the SPEAKER (oh how I LOVE when he is doing what he is passionate about and what God has gifted him to do);
  • Our friend and teammate Cherlynn is also leaving the field for an extended length of time (another sniff*sniff);
  • Then there is our annual SLC (spiritual life conference) in July that is a week long time of fellowship, encouragement and refreshment in ENGLISH with a VBSish program for the kids, speaker and worship.  Our anniversary usually falls during this time too (but we'll be celebrating big later this year for our 10 YEAR...wowza!).

Needless to say...KEEP OUR TEAM IN YOUR PRAYERS PRETTY PLEASE!  ALL of us could use them during this busy time.  Thanks!
