Stand Up For God

I have some blogging to catch up on since we travelled so much in October. It was a busy month with lots of fun things I want to share! First...

"Stand up for God! Don't be afraid of what others may do or say! Know it is true, that when you stand up for God, He will stand for us too!"

This was part of the theme song for the ACA (Asuncion Christian Academy) Elementary Camp Monday, October 12th - Thursday, October 15th. This was the second time Dan had been asked to share for the elementary camp (he's also shared during the junior high camp once). We love doing this kind of thing so when he was asked and the week was free for us, we didn't hesitate too long before saying YES! There is something special about this elementary age group. They are old enough to understand things on a deeper level than preschoolers for sure yet still innocent enough to not be tainted by worrisome things of the world. There is a wildness and exuberance about them too that gets you all excited as well.

I know I have said this before and most likely will say it again and again, but I LOVE it when Dan gets asked to speak to a group of youth. Sure, it involves a lot of time and preparation yet he is so gifted in this area that it comes naturally for him. We get to see his talents and training and passion in action at events like this. He always does such an incredible job; "camp" is his thing. Me? I get the privilege of following along and showing him off to his own children, keeping them at bay so he can do his job while meeting many of the students as we sit in the back (like all the future mommies that just couldn't keep away from Silas) !! The kids did a great job of sitting while Daddy gave his talks. Eli even made some new friends. I saw him come out of his shell a bit as he introduced himself to a few boys. The teachers were a great encouragement as well.

We hope God blessed our efforts and time of sharing with the students. Dan based his talks on Daniel 3 and standing up for God even when it is hard; standing against peer pressure and popularity; tattle tales and bullies; and putting your trust in Jesus Christ who cares for you even more than the birds and knows the hairs on your head!

Thank you ACA for allowing us to be a part of your camp!
