Through His Eyes

Friday March 5 - Sunday March 7th we participated in Buck Creek Baptist Church's first ever missions celebration. Thanks to the recommendation of fellow missionary colleagues, we were invited to share the ministry God has called us to do. Through His Eyes was the theme for the celebration and it was inspiring to be surrounded by like-minded people again.

4 pm on Friday we set up our display table, shared a meal with the other missionaries, practiced introductions, and then the evening service began at 7 pm. We worshipped together, prayed together and heard from a couple of the other missionaries present (there were 14 ministries represented in total) before the main speaker began his talk, encouraging and reminding us of the need all over the world for missions. We are ALL commanded to be a part of missions whether we are the ones to go, pray or support financially.

The last ones to leave that evening with the kids still going strong at 10 pm, we finally collapsed into bed around midnight. The next morning Dan went to the men's prayer meeting then we met friends and supporters for lunch, a walk in a park and some time on a playground.

4 pm we again went to the church for Dan to run through his presentation before dinner and the service at 6 pm. Concluding the evening with drinks and snacks, we had a chance to mingle and meet some neat people.

Sunday morning we were chosen to be one of four missionaries to share at the host church during the morning service. After we spoke to the children's church we went to the main sanctuary where Dan then shared for 15 minutes our passion to reach the youth of Paraguay along with pictures of our ministry there.

It was a great experience for all of us and we are proud of the children as they handled standing up in front of large crowds, meeting tons of new people, sleeping in a new place...like champs (they must be MKs!)

Only the Lord knows what the future might bring through these new contacts but we hope and pray that God will provide and meet our financial goals in order for us to return to Paraguay next year. If you or any one else you might know are interested in seeing our presentation and hearing more about our ministry as Youth Champions for Rural Paraguay, please let us know.
