She has successfully stopped pulling her hair enough that it is now long enough to play with!! While her "baby" is almost bald, it has allowed her hair the chance to finally grow out a bit.About the time Samantha turned one, she began pulling her hair out. We are not exactly sure why. We suspect it was because as a baby whenever she nursed (she stopped nursing at fifteen months old) she liked to hold onto my hair and it is during naptime and bedtime that she was pulling hers out the most. She'd yank out some hair, wrap her chubby fingers around it, put the thumb of the same hand in her mouth and fall asleep. Now she does this:

Yeah! I can't wait till it's long enough to start braiding. Then she can have braided pigtails. :D

ReplyDeleteHow funny! I love her hair! Kyle pulled his out too and ended up with a huge bald spot. Thankfully with a little boy we have decided to keep it really really short until he broke the habit. I like the doll idea although that works better with a little girl!
