Sarah's Birthday

Yesterday was my birthday and my family spoiled me!

Dan took all the children out in the morning so I had the house to myself to get ready, have a cup of coffee, read and even write a little. Then we had pastries for breakfast and the children all went outside to run around and play because the weather was beautiful with the sun shining and the warm wind blowing. While the children were playing, my hubby and I chit chatted while he made me an ice cream cake. For lunch Dan got out the grill and cooked a delicious meal and while the rest of us rested he cleaned up and washed the dishes. After quiet time it was party time! Two big boxes were waiting for me when I woke up, an unexpected surprise. We ate our cake, opened presents (some things for the kitchen I'd been wanting), the children went outside to play again and then Dan made his traditional pizzas that we ate while watching a movie. I had a nice LONG talk with my mom and dad, a wonderful message from my sister and many birthday wishes from good friends.

I was reminded of what a wonderful husband and children God has blessed me with, something I need to be reminded of because sometimes I let my "feelings" get in the way and easily forget amidt the chaos, demands, tiredness and stress how much God has given me.

God even gave me a present in this verse, repeating it to me through various friends:
"The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing."
Zephaniah 3:17 ESV

Thank you friends and family for making me feel so special and for loving me for who I am.
