JULY 2012
Oh! What happened this month?
Another month with a lot of goodbyes! We said goodbye to three families this month, right after SLC. All are gone now on home assignment and two are looking to return next year. But, you never know when you say goodbye to teammates. Four months after we arrived we went to the airport to welcome a new family. I was told then that the missionary life is full of hellos and goodbyes. No joke! That family is no longer with SIM and Becky, the one who told me that left in May for good.

| Boo hoo! This was our last lunch with Denny b/c he was leaving the field and heading off to college. The first time we met his family Toby was only four months old and I remember a 12 yr old Denny grabbing him and playing with him for at least two hours. He remained one of our kids' favorites and ours too! He is just fun to hang out with. Dan would always ask him if he wanted to go on "errands" while we were in the city thus resulting in an outing that, at the least, meant two hrs of driving all over the city, waiting in traffic and/or the truck. He was a good sport though and always went. We miss him!! His mom is an amazing woman full of wisdom, love, peace and the joy of the Lord. She and the rest of the family ARE returning! Can't wait to have them back! |
But July wasn't just about saying goodbye!! We enjoyed a week with our teammates at our annual Spiritual Life conference. We had games, talent shows, skits, worship, time w/ friends, and sessions where we talked and learned more about godly leadership.

| Be careful if Dan asks you to be in a skit! |
 |
| This just made me laugh...hope it makes you too! |
 |
| Some of the kids cooked these up and ate them! Yuck! |
We had prayer time, times of saying goodbye and shared music. I even got to do a worship dance with some of my favorite people! SLC is something we all look forward to every July.

Our anniversary is always during SLC. This year we celebrated our
10th wedding anniversary and my good friend Vonni surprised us w/ our own table and serenading music. It was super special!
Our sweet Silas turned three! Isn't he a riot? Quite mischievous as well, I might add! He can play by himself for hours; LOVES to sleep; his favorite color is green and he likes to put things in his pockets.
Finally, Dan spoke at the winter youth camp.

| The youth in San Fran baked and sold kabure as a fundraiser to go to youth camp. |
