Yesterday's Wacky Wednesday

Not wordless because I have too much to say and definitely wacky because despite the 95 + degree weather, I actually sat down with the kids and did some crafts!  If you know me well enough you will know that this is not characteristic of me as crafts + children = big mess and I don't like big messes other than normal life around here.  But the heat kind of makes you go crazy and I had found a few ideas on pinterest that I really liked, I'd already been reading till my throat was soar and I wanted to do something with the kids.  So, believe it or not, with the house in complete disarray we made this:

and this:

Eli and Toby made the snowman all by themselves while Sammie and Si helped me with the tree.  This was not an easy task as the essential fan kept blowing our papers everywhere!

And...
what do you do when a cool breeze finally blows in and its going on 6 pm?  Why, sit outside and enjoy it!!!  Who cares if you end up eating dinner at 8:30 pm?!?!  Kids go to bed with a full stomach :).

And...
if you follow us on facebook you will know that the day before was pretty awful for me.  Get my eyes off Jesus and on my circumstances and you get one up and down mama.  But, thanks to the Lord Himself and good friends praying, the right perspective changes everything!

And...
it's Christmas season here which means lots of fireworks which also means a German Shepherd named Piper going crazy trying to sneak in the house to get away from the noise!  Glad our new puppy Pemberley doesn't seem affected by the noise (she's mostly lab).

And finally...

this is what we did for family devotions tonight.  That cool breeze I mentioned earlier dropped the temps 20 degrees today which meant I was willing to turn my oven on.  It could warm right up tomorrow so we weren't taking chances and got some Christmas cookies baked.  I was really missing my mom though :(.
